Austin, TX’s Stubb’s BBQ will be forced to change its iconic name after McCormick & Co. gained exclusive rights to the use of the Stubb’s name.

According to the Austin Business Journal, the move is part of a deal reached after a contentious trademark lawsuit brought on by Baltimore-based condiment company McCormick & Co. against Stubb’s. The venue and restaurant says they plan to “phase out the name” while maintaining the same owners, managers and operational staff as they have in the past.

There is no word on what the name change will be. Stubb’s has played host to a number of acts over the years and has become one of Austin’s premiere music destinations, with the likes of Umphrey’s McGee, Trey Anastasio Band, Gov’t Mule and many more all visiting the venue in the recent past.
