The Avett Brothers brought their three-night run at the Capitol Theatre to a close last night with a 29-song set that saw them dip into their cover repertoire including Jerry Garcia and Pink Floyd covers, among others.

Along with a slew of their originals, the band delivered covers of George Harrison’s “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)” in the main set and peppered the encore with Pink Floyd’s “Time,” Garcia’s “Deal” and the Henry Whitter tune “Going Down the Road Feelin’ Bad” also covered frequently by the Grateful Dead. The Avett Brothers’ “Deal” cover had a bit of historical significance, too: the Dead debuted the Garcia classic along with future staples like “Loser,” “Greatest Story Ever Told,” “Bertha” and “Wharf Rat” during a run of February 1971 shows at the Cap.

The band will now break until their May 25 return to the road in Florida at the House of Blues in Orlando.
