The String Cheese Incident closed out Hulaween last night at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL, as the festival hosts followed up their three-set ’80s tribute on Saturday with a two-set affair that featured mostly originals and a few special guests.
The sit ins kicked off with the first two songs of the second set, as memebers of the Travelin’ McCourys joined SCI for two bluegrass classics in The Stanley Brothers’ “How Mountain Girls Can Love” and the folk standard/Jerry Garcia and David Grisman tune “Shady Grove.”
Later in the set, the band would welcome out Big Gigantic saxophonist Donimic Lalli for “Freedom Jazz Dance.” Lalli would return with members of The Motet’s horn section during the encore for a run of “Beautiful.”
String Cheese are off the road until their New Year’s Eve run, which will see the band play a three-night stand at 1stBank Center in Broomfield, CO, starting December 29.
