Ryan Adams kicked off his tour with The Shining on Friday night after a solo gig in June with The Infamous Stringdusters and Nicki Bluhm as a part of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

Adams and the band headlined Winnipeg Folk Festival in Canada on Friday night with a thirteen-song set that included an opening jam of “Peaceful Valley” before going into some material from his recent self-titled record. Later in the show, Adams debuted a new song “Outbound Train” from his forthcoming record and also busted out the first “Halloweenhead” since 2008. The Easy Tiger track was performed seven times by the Cardinals that year.

Last night, the band returned to the States with a show in Minneapolis and highlighted their sixteen song set with a slightly different setlist as the band mixed in cuts like “New York New York,” “Oh My Sweet Carolina,” “Dear Chicago” and a pair of newer tunes in “Kim” and “I Just Might” to go along with “Cold Roses.”

Adams’ tour continues tonight as he performs a set at Milwaukee’s Summerfest.
