Umphrey’s McGee’s respective Colorado run came to a conclusion with a night of guests and debuts to go along with some cohesive, exploratory playing from the sextet.

After a series of extended jams in the first set, including the opening number “Miss Tinkle’s Overture,” “FF” and “Domino Theory,” the band welcomed out Jaden Carlson, a local guitar player who replaced Brendan Bayliss for “Soul Food I.” Carlson also previously joined the band during their 2013 NYE run in Denver for “Der Bluten Kat.”

In the band’s six-song second set of their own, UM introduced a new cover of Mark Ronson’s tune “Daffodils.” Ronson wrote the song with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, who takes lead vocals on the tune. The new cover came before a final pairing of two of the band’s finest live staples, “Front Porch” and “Wizard Burial Ground.”

Umphrey’s resumes their 2016 touring schedule with their first of three shows at the Beacon Theatre in New York.
