Widespread Panic played a song from their forthcoming album live for the first time over the weekend. The tune, titled “Angels Don’t Sing The Blues,” made it’s first appearance during the second set of the band’s July 4th show at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio.
Widespread Panic will release their next album Street Dogs on September 25 via Vanguard Records. While the full tracklist has not yet been revealed, “Angels Don’t Sing The Blues” is is one of a few confirmed tunes, along with the road-tested “Cease Fire,” Alan Price’s “Sell Sell,” Murray McLauchlan’s “Honky Red,” Willie Dixon’s “Taildragger.” “Poorhouse of Positive Thinking” and “Street Dogs for Breakfast” will also appear on the record.
