The Slip reunited for their first performance since New Year’s Eve 2011-2012 on Sunday during High Sierra. The trio, who have played not only played High Seirra more than any other band but also played the festival 15 consecutive years, came together to celebrate the festival’s 25th anniversary. The group picked off where they left off in 2011, focusing mostly on newer material and tracks from their indie-leaning 2006 album Eisenhower. They also dipped back to their debut From the Gecko for the modern arrangement of “Weight of Solomon” and the Angels Come on Time jam “Get Me With Fuji.” In addition they nodded to their own return with Ray Charles’ “Come Back Baby.” Slip members Brad and Andrew Barr played with all three of their bands during the weekend, including their dormant super-group Surprise Me Mr. Davis and their current project The Barr Brothers.
