American Babies took the stage at New York’s Cutting Room for a night full of modern Americana music. Throughout the two-set show, the band mixed in cuts from the likes of Ryan Adams, My Morning Jacket and Arcade Fire with some of their originals.

The show kicked off with MMJ’s “Off the Record” and would be followed in the first set by Strand of Oaks’ Darker Shores cut “Satellite Moon.” Following the Babies’ “FYKM,” the band delivered The War on Drug’s latest single “Red Eyes” from Lost in the Dream. Father John Misty’s “Death of a Ladies Man” preceded the set closing “Leave the Light On.”

Set two featured a take on Ryan Adams’ Cold Roses cut “Let it Ride” and Cage the Elephant guitarist Nick Bockrath joined in for “Old Fashioned” later on in the set. Getting back to the theme of the night, the Babies dug into Dr. Dog’s catalog with “Rabbit Bat and Reindeer” before offering up a closing pairing of Arcade Fire’s “No Cars Go” and the Grateful Dead’s “Shakedown Street.”
