Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers will embark on a summer tour through the Southeast during the months of June and July. The band will make stops at the famed Georgia Theatre in Athens as well as four shows in North Carolina as well as stops in Kentucky and Delaware.

In addition to the new tour, two new members will join The Noisemakers as fiddle/mandolin player Ross Holmes and guitarist Gibb Droll will join the group. These additions mark the departure of longtime Noisemaker band members Bobby Reed and Doug Derryberry.

On Reed’s departure, Hornsby said, “Bobby Reed is one of the greatest musicians I know. I’ve loved playing with him , and hope to always have opportunities to work with him. He was with us for twenty years, and I’m so grateful for his great taste, good humor, soul and musicianship during his long tenure.”

The former Grateful Dead keyboardist also commented on Derryberry leaving the group, saying, “When I released the Spirit Trail album in 1998, I needed to find a guitar player who could play John Leventhal’s great orchestral guitar parts that enhanced that music so much. Doug Derryberry filled that bill and much more, with his guitar, strong vocals and mandolin playing giving us what we needed for fifteen years.”

Tickets are available now for select shows, with pre-sales scheduled for April 10 for the remaining shows. General on-sale begins April 11. All ticketing information is available here.
