The original lyric sheet to Darby Slick’s 1965 composition “Somebody to Love” is now on sale. The assumption is that the lyrics will be sold to a music aficionado or collector who is interested in owning an important piece of rock history.

Founding member of The Great Society, Slick originally entitled the song “Mind Full of Bread.” “Somebody to Love” would be made famous by Jefferson Airplane, and would also end up in countless television shows and films including the Coen Brothers’ “A Serious Man,” “The Cable Guy” and “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” along with being re-recorded by bands such as The Ramones.
