Phil Lesh and Friends one-upped everyone else by playing a show at Terrapin Crossroads on New Year’s Day. This incarnation of the group—Lesh, John Kadlecik, Anders Osborne, Jeff Chimenti, Tony Leone and special guest Stu Allen—took the stage at 5:15pm, following performances by American Jubilee and Walking Spanish. The set featured takes on songs from a number of albums that the band covered during their recent fall tour, including Neil Young’s “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere” and “Comes A Time,” The Rolling Stones’ “Dead Flowers” and The Allman Brothers Bands’ “Mountain Jam,” as well as a rendition of “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.”

In addition, American Jubilee’s set also included sit in from Allen. The guitarist joined the group for “Detroit Turnaround,” “Cold Rain and Snow,” “Cassidy,” “Got To Get Better In A Little While,” “The Golden Rose” and “Oh! Sweet Nuthin’.”
