12/12/12: The Concert For Sandy Relief will be released today by documentary filmmaker Amir Bar-Lev. The six-hour concert that featured performances from The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and many more will be condensed into a film, along with backstage footage as well as a focus on the relief efforts following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Notable performances from the show include Eddie Vedder joining Roger Waters for “Comfortably Numb” as well as the debut of “Maccavana,” the collaboration between Paul McCartney and the surviving members of Nirvana.

The film will be premiered at Ziegfeld Theater in Midtown Manhattan today.

In other Amir Bar-Lev news, the filmmaker remarked to the New York Times that he would like his next project to be a documentary about the Grateful Dead. Bar-Lev cited the 12/12/12 movie as a lesson in improvising as a director, and then stated his desire to work with the Grateful Dead.
