Upon finishing up Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, Phil Lesh & Friends moved onto their next album, Eat A Peach. The Allman Brothers’ 1972 double album served as the centerpiece of Lesh’s show in Upper Darby, PA last night, as the band moved through “Les Brers in A Minor,” “Melissa,” and the 33-minute “Mountain Jam” during their second set. The opening band, American Jubilee, started the night with the opening track from the album—“Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More.”

Mixed in with Grateful Dead originals, Lesh & Friends seem to be on their way to completing the album in the same vein as The Stones’ Sticky Fingers and Let It Bleed along with the recently completed Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. The Allman Brothers’ last album with guitarist Duane Allman was also heavily rumored to be the Phish cover album during their Halloween run, but the band opted to cover themselves in Atlantic City.

Phil Lesh & Friends will perform one final night at Upper Darby’s Tower Theatre tonight.
