The Replacements will reunite this year to headline Riot Fest in Toronto, Chicago and Denver. The alternative rock pioneers have not played together since 1991, but they were inspired to reunite after bassist Tommy Stinson and singer Paul Westerberg got together to record a covers EP to raise money for former guitarist Sim Dunlap after he suffered a stroke in 2012. Unfortunately, original drummer Chris Mars will but be joining the reunited band.

The Replacements will join Dinosaur Jr., Best Coast,Motorhead, Violent Femmes, Fall Out Boy, Blink-182, Iggy and The Stooges and more at the various Riot Fests. The festival will hit Toronto August 24-25, before heading to Chicago September 13-15 and Denver September 21-22.
