Phish bassist Mike Gordon and The Wallflowers leader Jakob Dylan have joined the lineup for the Love for Levon benefit. As previously reported, the all-star event will celebrate the life of The Band’s Levon Helm at East Rutherford, NJ’s IZod Center tomorrow. Other confirmed acts include: Roger Waters, Gregg Allman, My Morning Jacket, Bruce Hornsby, Warren Haynes, Grace Potter, Band co-founder Garth Hudson, Joe Walsh, John Mayer, Ray LaMontagne, Mavis Staples, Joe Walsh, Lucina Williams, Jorma Kaukonen, Robert Randolph, John Hiatt, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley and the Levon Helm Band. Don Was and Larry Campbell will serve as the evening’s musical directors. In another change, Patty Griffin has been removed from the event’s lineup. All proceeds will help save Helm’s barn and recording studio.

Gordon sat in with Helm during one of his Woodstock, NY-area Midnight Rambles. Helm has known Jakob Dylan since he backed his father in the late ’60s. More recently, Helm sat in with The Wallflowers on a few occasions in 1997.
