Chris Daniels is celebrating his 60th birthday with the release of Better Days, a new CD featuring Richie Furay, Sam Bush, John Magnie, Lloyd Maines and more. Daniels didn’t think he’d ever get to see this day. After being diagnosed with acute leukemia two years ago, the Colorado musician began writing some new songs. Better Days, an album that combines this new material with unrecorded earlier songs, heralds Daniels’ recovery. Selected tracks from the new CD can be heard here. The music video for the title track can be viewed above.

Chris will be celebrating at a birthday bash in his Denver hometown on Saturday, September 29 at Herman’s Hideaway, with a number of guest artists & bands on the bill.

“I truly never thought I would see 60,” says Daniels. “There was no way with a 90% chance of the leukemia coming back…but man oh man, it’s almost here. Amazing what the love of friends and family and the care of good doctors can do. Just saying how thankful I am to have gotten this far.”

When diagnosed, Chris was given a 10% chance of survival. A donation of stem cell bone marrow from his sister and chemotherapy led to his recovery. September is The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Blood Cancer Awareness Month. More information can be found here.
