Steve Kimock has released a free live EP. The five-track compilation features highlights from the guitarist’s recent May tour, his most extended run of shows in some time. P-Funk/Talking Heads keyboardist Bernie Worrell, Stockholm Syndrome drummer Wally Ingram and former Gov’t Mule/Black Crowes bassist Andy Hess form his band on the album.

Billed as “a sonic snapshot of serious grooves, stirring improvisations, heavy funk and tight-as-a-drum rock and roll,” the EP includes several Kimock originals, including the classic “One For Brother Mike” (5/18/12 – Cleveland, OH) and “Thing One” (5/22/12 – Nashville, TN). The EP also features “Hey Man” (5/31/12 – Raleigh, NC) as well as choice covers including the mashup of The Beatles’ “Come Together” into BB King’s “The Thrill is Gone” (6/2/12 – Baltimore, MD), and Worrell’s take on Funkadelic’s “Super Stupid” (5/25/12 – Tampa, FL). The recording is available for free download here.
