Jeff Waful’s view of the ceremony

Umphrey’s McGee bassist Ryan Stasik married his longtime partner Mary Welch Fox in Charleston, SC this past weekend. Stasik’s Umphrey’s McGee bandmates Joel Cummins (piano), Jake Cinninger (acoustic guitar) and Brendan Bayliss (acoustic guitar) performed during the ceremony and delivered lovely versions of Umphrey’s McGee’s “Great American,” Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m on Fire,”
Umphrey’s McGee’s “Memories of Home” John Coltrane’s “Dear Lord” and Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry Be Happy,” with the band whistling the song’s lyrical parts. The trio performed The Beatles’ “Something” as the bride walked down the aisle. The Beatles’ “All You Need is Love” was also played at the end of the ceremony.

Later in the night, wedding guest Jen Hartswick also got in the action by sitting in with the evening’s wedding band for a cover of Bill Withers “Use Me.” As a fitting tribute, Umphrey’s McGee lighting designer/Jeff Waful +1 host Jefferson Waful and former Umphrey’s McGee crew member/musician Wyllys tweeted the night’s as the wedding progressed.
