“Up On Cripple Creek,” Norwegian Jewel Cruise Liner 1/8/07

Last night in Austin, moe. opened its fall tour. Great American Taxi opened the show at La Zona Rosa, which later saw GAT’s Vince Herman take the stage with moe. Herman appeared midway through the first set for a version of The Band’s “Up On Cripple Creek,” which moe. last performed on January 8, 2007. The group has a steady stream of dates on its tour docket, with over 40 dates confirmed through March (including a European run).

Meanwhile, fans are awaiting the official announcement regarding the band’s next record. Back on September 30, moe. guitarist Al Schnier posted to his Facebook page, “hey! moe. is just finishing up final touches on our latest studio album. tell me what you’d like to see us offer for our pre-order, limited edition, packages… vinyl? lim. edition poster? T shirt? signed & numbered copies? alt versions w. demos/live cuts etc? what are your ideas? LMK…” It is quite possible that some of these suggestions will be incorporated when the band makes its official announcement in the near future.

Last night’s setlist appears below, as drawn from our Box Scores page.
