Quactus played their 100th show Saturday night at Costa Mesa, CA’s The Tiki Bar. As promised, several guests joined the group during their set. Though previously confirmed guest Craig Marshall (Cubensis) couldn’t make the show due to recent hernia surgery, Cubensis—and onetime Dark Star Orchestra—keyboardist Tom Ryan joined the band for the Grateful Dead’s “The Golden Road (To Unlimited Devotion),” Traffic’s “Dear Mr. Fantasy,” The Beatles’ “Hey Jude,” the Grateful Dead’s “Scarlet Begonias” and Pink Floyd’s “Have A Cigar.” In addition, original Quactus keyboard player Mike Russeck made his first appearance with the band in nearly five years during the show. Gospel Swamp Blues Band opened the night and brought out guitarist Gabriel Weiner for a portion of their set.
Quactus will perform with MOKSHA at Las Vegas’ Binions Casino this Saturday. The group will also perform a Quacticle show with Particle in Hermosa Beach, CA on December 16.
