Marco Benevento is a busy man. In addition to working on an upcoming album at his new Woodstock studio, the piano virtuoso has announced tours with his trio, Surprise Me Mr. Davis and Garage a Trois. Benevento will also perform two shows at Brooklyn Bowl on August 11 and 12 with Led Zeppelin cover group Bustle in Your Hedgerow.

Returning to his former home state of New Jersey tomorrow night, Benevento and his trio will kick off their summer tour at Mexicali Live in Teaneck, NJ. The group will then hit the festival circuit making stops at All Good Festival on July 16, The Big Up on July 28 and close out with a performance at the Liberate Festival on August 19.

The very next night, Marco will perform again at the Liberate Festival, this time alongside Nathan Moore and The Slip as Surprise Me Mr. Davis. The jam supergroup takes to the road for four additional shows following the festival, including the band’s first ever Canadian performances (the group’s last attempted border crossing was halted when Nathan Moore ran into trouble with customs officers stemming from an incident at High Sierra Music Festival in 2005). Davis is also confirmed for Jam Cruise 10, taking place in January of 2012.

Later this summer, Benevento hits the road again for a sporadic run of solo piano shows stretching late into the fall. The run includes a few notable co-bills including an August 31 solo piano show alongside Bruce Hornsby at the Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club in New York City and a November 17 performance with Bela Fleck at The Keswick Theater in Philadelphia, PA.

Finally, Benevento will embark on an eight show fall tour with Garage a Trois starting September 21 at Artmosphere in Lafayette, LA. The group will travel through the south and Midwest before closing out with a performance at the Bear Creek Festival between November 11 and 13 (where Benevento’s trio will also play).
