Fresh off of two headlining performances in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, The Flaming Lips recently announced an extensive summer tour. The first show will be at Boston, Massachusetts’ Bank of America Pavilion on July 27, and the Lips will travel throughout the United States until the end of October, with a stop at the Metamorphose Festival in Izu City, Japan on September 3. As previously reported, Weezer will join the group for two co-headlining shows at the PNC Bank Arts Center on July 28 and Jones Beach Theatre on July 29. The Flaming Lips have recently been recording in the studio and are releasing these tracks on vinyl at their concerts. Some of these tracks can be heard by buying the brand new “Gummy Song Fetus,” a completely edible gummy fetus with a USB drive shoved inside it’s brain. This limited edition USB Drive contains three brand new songs: “Enthusiasm for Life Defeats Existential Fear Part 2,” “Steven’s Moonbow,” and “Squishy Glass.” More information can be found here.
