Phish – 6/1/11 “Split Open and Melt” from Phish on Vimeo.

Here’s a look at “Split Open and Melt” from earlier this tour

Phish returned to Cuyahoga Falls, OH’s Blossom Music Center last night. The show featured a few notable songs, including the recently revived “Fuck Your Face” first set. The group also busted out Little Feat’s “Rocket in My Pocket” for the first time since Phish debuted it as part of their recreation of Waiting for Columbus on Halloween. The only other song Phish has performed from the album since Halloween was “Fat Man in the Bathtub” on December 30. “Run Like an Antelope” was also particularly playful.

While Phish’s summer tour has featured some new styles of jamming, it hasn’t featured any new original songs. But a few songs into their second set, the members of Phish debuted the new Trey Anastasio/Tom Marshall original “Steam.” The number segued nicely into “Piper” and finally “The Lizards.” The group also inserted a cover of “Have Mercy” in “Harry Hood” later in their set.

Phish’s summer tour will continue in Cincinnati, OH tonight.
