Last week, The New Deal announced that it will break up at the end of the year. The Canadian trio came together in 1999 and has performed around the globe over the intervening 12 years. Back on June 22, 2000, at the outset of the band’s career, Jamie Shields, Darren Shearer and Dan Kurtz performed at the inaugural Jammy Awards, delivering a musical tribute to Bill Monroe. As The New Deal counts down its final days, we though it fitting to share this intriguing musical offering, which is now streaming on Relix.com.
