Lotus’s Jesse Miller (aka Beard-o-Bees) and Tigersapien have remixed music for each other. Tigersapien has remixed “Blacklight Sunflare” from the forthcoming Lotus studio release, which the band describes as “a dance-floor ready track combining Tigersapien’s signature distorted synth sounds and electro vibe with Lotus’s melodic hooks. Turn on your blacklights and turn up the subs.” Miller then offered his own spin on “Not Dead,” the first song on Tigersapien’s new EP Clean Lines. In this setting, “the original’s adrenaline fueled chase-scene electro is completely flipped in this remix. The fight or flight spirit of the original is transformed into a cerebral celebration of life as the sparse piano chords release into scattershot percussion, electronic tweaks and thundering toms.” Both tracks can now be heard at the Lotus site.
