
Matt Butler has organized a two-night Everyone Orchestra run in his home state of Oregon this weekend. On April 8, Butler will conduct a version of EO at Portland’s Refuge that features Steve Kimock, Jamie Janover, Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin, live painter Alex Grey, March 4th Marching Band’s Robin Jackson, kirtan artist Dave Stringer, Damian Erskine, The Motet’s Jans Ingber and others. The show is part of Alex Grey’s two-day Awakening Divine Imagination. The “Celebration of Love, Life, Unity and Expressions of the Sacred” will also boast performances by Ott, Cheb i Sabbah, Vagabond Opera, Phutureprimitive and others.
In addition, Butler will conduct Everyone Orchestra at Eugene’s Wow Hall on April 9. This version of the band will find Kimock, Berlin, Ingber, Asher Fulero, Julian Fritz and others performing a number of Kimock originals along with conducted improv. Butler is currently working on Everyone Orchestra’s first studio release.
