Conspirator returned to New York for a sold out show at the Gramercy Theatre this past Friday. In addition to band mainstays Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner, this incarnation of Conspirator featured guitarist Chris Michetti (RAQ) and drummer Darren Shearer (The New Deal). Partway through the band’s first set, longtime Damon Dash associate McKenzie Eddy emerged to sing on “Retrograde.” The song is the first single off of Eddy’s new Brownstein-produced studio album. Conspirator has also performed a version of the song all tour.

Noted Swill electronic drummer Jojo Mayer also emerged during the band’s first set for a version of” Commercial Amen.” He returned later in the night for “Fascinate.” Mayer has performed with a number of noted musicians over the years, including John Medeski and the members of Screaming Headless Torsos.
