In our recent site interview with Trey Anastasio Band’s Ray Paczkowski, the keyboardist says, “This particular tour, [Trey] started picking out tunes from what I also think of as the “interim band”—between us now and when Russ [Lawton] and Tony [Markellis] left [in 2004]—and see what works, and what doesn’t. There’s a whole slew of material that was in that middle band that we hadn’t really played that much before, even with his own band, actually.” Since kicking off his acoustic/electric tour last week, Anastasio has revisited a number of these “interim band” songs. Last night at Philadelphia’s Electric Factory, Anastasio revived the Shine-era song “Dark and Down” for the first time since 2008. A few other TAB songs made their tour debuts as well, including “Tube Top Flop,” “At the Gazebo,” “Shine” and “Mr. Completely.”
