After missing the Disco Biscuits final five shows of 2010 due to a severe asthma attack that landed him in the hospital, drummer Allen Aucoin returned to the stage last night. Aucoin reportedly was in fine form throughout the evening, as the band opened its four show Colorado run at the Boulder Theater. Starting with “King Of The World,” the quartet delivered a four song first set that saw an open-ended version of “Morph Dusseldorf” followed by a sequence that led from “Vassillios” into “Spacebirdmatingcall.” One highlight of the second set was a passage from “Lunar Pursuit” into “Crickets” and then into “Portal To An Empty Head.” The Disco Biscuits will be back at the Boulder Theatre tonight.
