My Morning Jacket and The Roots collaborated on television last night. My Morning Jacket performed the Z track “Wordless Chorus” on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The Roots, who serve as the program’s house band, sat in with the group throughout its performance. The members of The Roots also backed Jim James’ other band Monsters of Folk earlier this year when they performed on the talk show and recorded James’ “Dear God” for their new studio album. MMJ is off to Woodstock, NY for an appearance at Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble.
