The revamped Primus recently set off on a summer tour that finds the band in Columbus, OH on Thursday for a show with Gogol Bordello and The Dead Kenny G’s (and then on to Nashville for a Friday gig with The Dead Kenny G’s). The group, which now featured Jay Lane on drums along with bassist Les Claypool and guitarist Larry LaLonde came together in June for a series of rehearsals. The band is now offering up four songs from these sessions for free download. Folks can “stop by the front page of Primusville.com and enter their email address in exchange for an EP that offers “Pudding Time,” “American Life,” “Duchess And The Proverbial Mind Spread” and “Harold Of The Rocks.” Meanwhile the group has confirmed some Australian shows for 2011, including an appearance at the Soundwave Festival.
