Gov’t Mule and Jackie Greene’s summer tour rolled on to Memphis, TN’s W. C. Handy Music Park last night. At the start of its second set, Gov’t Mule debuted a cover of John Lennon’s “Working Class Hero.” Later in the night, Jackie Greene joined the members of Gov’t Mule for a take on the Rolling Stones’ “Ventilator Blues.” Mother Hips drummer John Hofer, who is on the road with Greene, then joined everyone onstage for a cover of the Beatles’ “Don’t Let Me Down.”
In related news, Gov’t Mule’s Warren Haynes and Matt Abts will make an in-store appearance at Boston’s Newbury Comics at Faneuil Hall on August 5. The Mule co-founder’s will appear at the store in support of Mulennium, the band’s first release to feature the original Mule trio since the passing of Allen Woody.
