Gov’t Mule kicked off a string of July dates with guest opener Jackie Greene Friday night at Raleigh, NC’s Raleigh Boutique Amphitheatre. Mule’s show was cut short due to inclement weather before the two acts could share the stage, but Greene sat in with Warren Haynes and company the following day at Baltimore, MD’s Artscape Festival. Greene emerged at the end of Gov’t Mule’s show for cover of “Sugaree.” The song also featured an appearance by area saxophonist and longtime Haynes collaborator Ron Holloway, who sat in with “32/20 Blues,” “Mule” and “Soulshine” earlier in the show.

Last night, Greene and Gov’t Mule appeared at Charlotte, NC’s Road Runner Mobile Amphitheatre. Greene emerged once again at the end of Gov’t Mule’s set for a first time cover of Tom Waits’ “Ol’ ’55” and JJ Cale’s “After Midnight.” The two acts will appear at Memphis, TN’s W.C. Handy Performing Arts Park this Wednesday.
