Drive-By Truckers is one of the first bands to confirm its New Year’s Eve plans. The recent Relix cover subject will bring in 2011 at New York’s Terminal 5. The Truckers have headlined the room several times in the past, including two co-headlining shows with the Hold Steady.

The group opened for Levon Helm this Saturday at one of the drummer’s Midnight Rambles outside Woodstock, NY. During the ensemble’s set, frontman Patterson Hood’s father David Hood joined the group onstage, including on Gladys Knight & the Pips’ “Everybody Needs Love.” The elder Hood recorded on Levon Helm’s first two solo albums. Later in the night, the members of Drive-By Truckers sat in with Helm for “The Weight.”
