Guitarist Charlie Hitchcock reunited with Particle for two shows this past weekend. The gigs took place at Hermosa Beach, CA’s Saint Rocke and Ocean Beach, CA’s Winston’s on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Both shows honored the lives of longtime Particle fans Jimmy LeBloch and Gregg Lobdell, who recently passed away.

Hitchcock played guitar with Particle throughout both two-set shows. These performances marked the first time Hitchcock has played with the band since 2005 and featured two of the guitarist’s original songs: “Make It Real” (Friday) and “Waterfall” (Saturday). Delta Vova saxophonist Rob Covacevich also sat in with the band on “Kneeknocker” Saturday night.

Particle will perform at Des Moines, Iowa’s 80-35 Music Festival on July 3. The group has not confirmed a guitarist for the performance.
