This coming Tuesday is the official release date of Widespread Panic’s Dirty Side Down. The group “has lined up 40 listening parties”: for Spreadheads to hear the new disc in the company of fellow fans. The Athens event (in the city of the band’s origin) will take place on Saturday night at the Terrapin Brewery. Tonight, parties are set for Steamboat Springs, Fort Collins, Savannah, Louisville and a few other cities, with the list below, in alphabetical order by state.

The Dirty Side Down countdown continues on Relix.com, where the latest feature is an archival interview with John Bell. This joins a fall 1999 interview with the late Mikey Houser, conducted around the release of ‘Til The Medicine Takes along with the band’s 2002 Relix cover story.
