San Diego, CA’s Slightly Stoopid played a late night show Monday at New Orleans’ Republic. The group, who play a self-described fusion of psychedelic blues, reggae, jazz, hip-hop and rock, also added some New Orleans flair to its style. Rebirth Brass Band opened the night and both Ivan and Ian Neville sat in with Slightly Stoopid during its set. The keyboardist and guitarist appeared on a number of songs, including “Somebody,” “Baby I Like It,” “Del Jam,” “Train 1&2” and Dennis Brown’s “If This World Were Mine.” Slightly Stoopid will kick off a summer tour at Jacksonville, OR’s Britt Pavilion on June 18.
