Two of the jam scene’ biggest touring acts played 4/20 shows in Washington, DC. Widespread Panic performed at the Warner Theatre and brought out saxophonist Ron Holloway for “Use Me” and “Red Hot Mama.” Though Holloway has not performed with Panic in the past, he’s crossed paths with the musicians through his work with the members of the Allman Brothers Band family.

Meanwhile, the Disco Biscuits continued a tradition of 4/20 Washington, DC shows with a gig at the 9:30 Club. Like all the shows on the band’s current tour, Brothers Past’s Tom Hamilton and RAQ’s Chris Michetti supplemented the group on guitar with Jon Gutwillig recovers from a wrist injury. The band also threw in some Ludacris and Snoop Doggy Dogg during “Caves Of The East.” Widespread Panic will return to the Warner tonight, while The Disco Biscuits are off to Charlottesville, VA’s The Jefferson Theatre.
