Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings are among the travelers marooned overseas due to flight changes stemming from Iceland’s volcanic eruption. According to the band’s spokeswoman, “The band has shuttled from Amsterdam to Duesseldorf to London during the past four days in an attempt to make it home for scheduled shows as well as a taping of the Late Show With David Letterman today.” The band was also forced to cancel a full one-hour performance on NPR’s Talk of the Nation in Washington, DC.

Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings were on a short tour in Europe that included appearances in Berlin, Paris, London and Amsterdam when the volcano erupted. The group cancelled its recent appearance at Wanee but hopes to return to the United States this week. The group is scheduled to perform at New Orleans’ The Howlin Wolf this Friday.
