The Low Anthem will play a benefit show on April 21. The group was scheduled to play Providence, RI’s Lupo’s and decided to make the gig free with donations to benefit RI Flood Recovery. As Ben Knox Miller explains, “Our tour was way out west when we heard about the flooding. It was a dry but helpless feeling to be so far away. Mat’s mother’s had the idea I think to turn Lupo’s into a benefit show. A good idea! People can donate if they like or just come into Lupo’s for free, which is pretty unusual. We are excited to come back home for the show, and also hopeful for the dryness of the gear in our basement.”

Fellow Providence bands Tallahassee and The ‘Mericans will open the night. The price of admission for the night will now simply be “donate what you wish,” with proceeds going to the United Way’s Rhode Island Flood Recovery Fund. If you have already purchased tickets and would like to be refunded, they will be refunded at point of purchase.
