Phish is one step closer to playing Telluride, CO this summer, according to the Telluride Daily Planet. An article in the paper explains, “Telluride’s arts board approved putting the jam band on the arts calendar for Aug. 9 and 10. The arts and culture board, CCAASE, handles the scheduling for the town, so that no two major festivals are booked on the same weekend.” The concert still has to be approved by the town council before it is considered official.

The group’s shows would take place the Monday and Tuesday after Telluride’s Annual Jazz Celebration, which will feature groups with “crossover appeal” like the Greyboy All-Stars. Many of Telluride’s food and beverage providers would also have vending privileges.

Both Phish shows would have a 9,000-person capacity. The Vermont Quartet has not played Telluride since 1991.
