Saxophonist Jeff Coffin is enjoying some rare time at home in Nashville, TN between tours with Dave Matthews Band, the Flecktones and his varies solo projects. While at home, Coffin took in a performance by friends Umphrey’s McGee at Nashville’s War Memorial Auditorium. During the show, Coffin sat in on “Bright Lights Big City” and a cover of Billy Joel’s “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant.” At the end of the night he also emerged along with Flecktones drummer Future Man for a version of “Glory.” Coffin will kick off a European tour with Dave Matthews Band on February 16, while Umphrey’s McGee will perform at Birmingham, AL’s WorkPlay Soundstage tomorrow.

In other news, Umphrey’s McGee will host a Stew Art Series (S2) event at Philadelphia’s Electric Factory on February 27. The interactive event will benefit USTORM.
