Galactic and Tea Leaf Green shared the stage multiple times last week. As previously reported, the two bands allowed fans to vote on what songs they’d collaborate on as part of the Throw-down Request Live campaign. The members of Tea Leaf Green joined Galactic onstage Thursday night at Philadelphia’s TLA for the first winning selection, The Rolling Stones’ “Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’.” The following night the members of Tea Leaf Green took the stage with Galactic at New York’s Terminal 5 for the second winning song, The Band’s “Don’t Do It,” as well as a second take on “Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’.” In addition to Cyril Neville and Corey Henry, who are both on tour with Galactic this run, the group also invited out female vocalist and rapper Butterscotch for a take on “From the Corner to the Block” Friday night. After their sets Friday, Galactic’s Stanton Moore, Galactic’s Robert Mercurio and Tea Leaf Green’s Reed Mathis sat in with guitarist Will Bernard at New York’s Bar 9. Trumpeter Alicia Rau also joined Bernard’s band at the late-night gig.

Galactic’s New York run continued last night at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Bowl. After being snowed into the city, the group booked a Post Super Bowl Party at the club, which a fraction of Terminal 5’s size. In celebration of The Saints’ victory, the New Orleans-based band opened its set with a run from “Paul Who Dat” into “When the Saints Go Marching in” and “Hey Pocky Way.” Cyril Neville and Corey Henry played with the group throughout the night and Bernard also sat in on two songs. Galactic will perform at Washington, DC’s 9:30 Club tonight.
