Yonder Mountain String Band will wrap up its current tour in late-February and then is then off until a spring tour opens in late March. However, at least one member of the group will spend some time on stage during the band’s five week break. Jeff Austin has confirmed four Colorado dates from March 10-13. He will be joined by Danny Barnes, as well as Split Lip Rayfield’s Eric Thorin and Wayne Gottstine for these shows (although Gottstine will not be on hand for the kick-off on the 10th at the Aggie Theatre in Ft. Collins). Then it’s off to Chicago for Austin who will appear with Umphrey’s McGee’s Brendan Bayliss at Shubas on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17. As for Yonder, following an appearance at Jam In The Dam, the quartet will tour out west from March 30 through April 11. Tonight, YMSB is in Asheville at the Orange Peel.
