Sullivan Hall celebrated its 2nd anniversary this past Saturday. Stephane Wrembel and the Django Experiment opened the night, before The Marco Benevento Trio featuring Billy Martin and Dave Dreiwitz took the stage. The musicians offered a ninety minute set that included versions of Benevento’s “Real Morning Party,” Ween’s “Baby Bitch” and “Happy Birthday,” which was accompanied by a cake to surprise Dreiwitz (who turned 44 that day). The Slip then took the stage for two sets of music which began shortly before midnight and ended at 3:05AM (which led Brad Barr to reflect that it reminded him of The Slip’s early days at Wetlands Preserved). The night closed out with a version of Led Zeppelin’s “Heartbreaker” with Benevento joining the group on keys.
