California-based folk group Common Rotation performed at New York’s Living Room this past Sunday. Throughout the entire night the group was augmented by Jillinda Palmer on accordion and piano and They Might Be Giants’ Dan Miller dobro and (Common Rotation has clocked in time on the road with They Might Be Giants). Living Room regular Jason Crosby also sat in with the band throughout the night, including a show-opening version of “No Love At All,” “Forget For a While,” “Kingdom” and “Bitter Honey.”

In addition, John DiMaggio, an actor best known as the voice of Bender on Futurama, sang harmonies with the group on “Surround Face,” “Kingdom” and an A cappella version of “You Always Hurt the One Your Love.” DiMaggio also beatboxed with Common Rotation on a cover of MIA’s “Paper Planes” that featured Crosby.

Common Rotation will appear at Hollywood, CA’s The Hotel Café on February 5, while DiMaggio will em ncee Yonder Mountain String Band’s New Year’s Eve shows at Denver’s Fillmore.
