Dark Star Orchestra’s performance at Bridgeport, CT’s Klein Auditorium will be streamed online this evening via iClips.net. Gathering of the Vibes will formally announce its 2010 festival during the streamed event. Dark Star Orchestra keyboardist Rob Barraco and touring guitarist Jeff Mattson performed at the first Gathering of the Vibes in 1996 as members of the Zen Tricksters and have remained mainstays of the festival.

“We’re totally psyched to have Jeff—it’s going to take our jams in a lot of different directions. It’s also a definite added bonus that he and (Rob) Barraco played together in a band for 11years,” DSO’s Rob Koritz said in a statement. “Jeff can literally jump right in and keep it rolling. We“ll come out slamming right from the get-go.”

Dark Star Orchestra celebrated its 12th anniversary last week on November 11. The band’s fall tour continues to wind through New England with stops at New York’s Nokia Theatre (11/27, 11/28), South Burlington, VT’s Higher Ground (12/1, 12/2) and other venues.
