The Black Keys will play a hometown show at Akron, OH’s Musica on November 27. Billed as The Wild World of Alfred McMoore: A Multimedia Retrospective To Benefit Community Support Services, the charity gig will take place the day the group releases its new hip hop album Blakroc. As previously reported, the album features collaborations with rap stars like RZA, Mos Def, Q-Tip and Jim Jones, among others. The group is also featured on the cover of the December/January issue of Relix.

“It’s always sort of a gimmick and not really organic,” guitarist Dan Auerbach tells writer Alan Light in the forthcoming issue. “Or it’s just instruments trying to copy hip-hop music. This was just raw instrumentation, from the get-go, and then lyrics on top—it started from the ground up.”

The group’s only other confirmed shows are at Chicago’s The Riviera on December 31 and January 1.Meanwhile, Auerbach is touring with his solo band, while Patrick Carney focuses on his new band Drummer.
