Chris Barron & the Time Bandits closed their residency at New York’s Sullivan Hall this past Wednesday. A number of guests sat in with Barron and his band throughout their extended set, including the singer’s Spin Doctors bandmate Aaron Comess. The drummer took the stage early in the night for a few songs, including the Spin Doctors favorite “How Could You Want Him When You Know You Could Have Me?” Soon after, singer/songwriter Jerry Joseph emerged for the Spin Doctors’ “Gorilla Boy” and a cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” (a week earlier the Bacon Brothers also joined Barron for the Stones’ “Last Time). “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” also featured Paulie Z (_Z Rock_ on IFC), who remained onstage after Joseph left for “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong.” Finally, near the end of the night both Brothers Past/American Babies guitarist Tom Hamilton and Deep Banana Blackout saxophonist Rob Somerville appeared on Spin Doctors’ “Big Fat Funky Booty.”
