Caribbean Holidaze will take place in Jamaica for the final time in the foreseeable future this December. According to the event’s promoters, “If you haven’t joined us for Holidaze Jamaican style, this is your year. This will be the last time Caribbean Holidaze will call Jamaica home – at least for now. We have exciting plans in motion to bring our party in paradise to another amazing location next year.”

The multi-band event, which is anchored by Umphrey’s McGee and the Disco Biscuits, has taken place in Jamaica each December since 2007.

In related news, Caribbean Holidaze has confirmed a few additional activities: Disco Biscuits guitarist Jon Gutwillig will host a poker tournament and the festival will host its own Chanukah-themed celebration. In addition, Umphrey’s McGee bassist Ryan Stasik will spearhead Swapapolooza ’09

The event’s rules are as follows:

1. Grab your “give-away” outfits and pack them in your bag. On Saturday night late night, put them on and head to the Disco.

2. Every 30 minutes, a siren or a horn will go off signaling a “swapping session.” Each person swaps an article of clothing with the person (he or she) next to them.

3. THIS REPEATS UNTIL THE PARTY ENDS AND YOU ARE WEARING A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT OUTFIT!

4. The next day, we will provide bins at the Cloud 9 Customer Service desks at each resorts. Donate these and any other clothes and we will deliver to a local charity for those in need.

This year’s Caribbean Holidaze will take place from December 10-14. Rooms are still available at both Breezes and Hedonism.
